History of Hemp Roots

We are big believers in hemp root. Hemp root's potential has long been ignored despite its long history of use in healing and the evidence of all that it offers.  

We set about to change that, and to make the power or hemp roots available in products and formulations accessible to the general public. Our products are all carefully crafted with love. We use these products ourselves on a daily basis, in fact we start using them long before we share them with the public to make sure each product is perfect before we sell it.  

According to the National Institutes of Health: 

One of the first mentions of the medical use of cannabis root was by the Roman historian, Pliny the Elder, who wrote in his Natural Histories that “a decoction of the root in water relaxes contractions of the joints and cures gout and similar maladies.” By the latter part of 17th century, various physicians and herbalists recommended cannabis root to treat fever, inflammation, gout, arthritis, and joint pain, as well as skin burns and hard tumors. There are also accounts of cannabis root being used to treat postpartum hemorrhage, difficult child labor, sexually transmitted disease, and gastrointestinal activity and infection. Despite a long history of therapeutic use, the roots of cannabis plants have been largely ignored in modern medical research and practice.

This historic usage was lost to history when hemp was largely banned in the prior century. When hemp was first legalized again, it triggered a flurry of product development, however almost all of that centered around a singular molecule, CBD. The roots remained forgotten, at least until now. 

One of the other interesting and important points to note is that hemp roots only contain only trace amounts of the cannabinoids which the hemp plant is better known for. This is important, because many folks can not use CBD due to other medications they are taking. Our da Balm and ROAR tea, contain only root extract.
